B&M Waste Services’ Darrin Percy has completed the last of his 50 marathon challenge in Chester on Sunday 4th October to raise funds for Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, who are B&M’s nominated charity.
His aim was to complete 50 marathons before his 50th year was up and he’s done it. The first marathon was back in June 2013 in Shrewsbury and since then Darrin has continued to run all round the UK from the New Forest to Inverness, the Gower Peninsula to Newcastle Upon Tyne. He has also completed four marathons in Ireland.
Darrin said “The hardest race out of them all was the Snowdon Trail where I faced a 30 mile race up the Pyg track then at 21 miles, coming back down the other side on the Llanberis path, all in adverse weather conditions.”
This immense challenge has seen Darrin complete a distance of over 1300 miles, which is the equivalent of running from Liverpool all the way to Benidorm!
Congratulations Darrin.
