Mid 2015 saw B&M Waste Service expand their green fleet with the addition of several Toyota Auris hybrid company vehicles. As a Carbon Neutral (PAS 2060) company since 2011, B&M are always looking for the latest technology and investments that can improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
To further the commitment to Carbon Neutrality additional Electric Vehicle charging points have been introduced to B&M Sites, this allows employees to charge their cars throughout the day which in turn reduces the amount of petrol needed to run the vehicles during the course of the week.
Mick Ashall, Director at B&M Waste Services said “After recently receiving the annual Carbon Footprint report we are proud to report our total emission savings for the year were 1,248 tonnes of Carbon. This is equivalent to over 4.1 million miles being driven in an average car, or taking 520 cars off the road completely. The charging points across our sites will further reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles.”
With savings like this B&M continue to make pro-active changes that benefit both the company and customers all the while reducing carbon emissions and helping the environment.
