A leading waste management company has picked up a prestigious environmental award for its work with the iconic, waterfront located, Royal Liver Building in Liverpool
The award received was for ‘Built Environment and Architectural heritage’
The Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 as an annual campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.
The Green Apple Awards scheme was one of the first to be accredited by the RSA as an official feeder scheme into the European Business Awards for the Environment, and is still one of only a handful of accredited campaigns.
As a supplier of Carbon Neutral waste management services to the Royal Liver Building, B&M Waste Services assist in reducing the environmental impact of the site, through recycling, recovery and diversion from landfill of all their waste streams.
Neil Curtis, Managing Director at B&M Waste Services said “With our roots and head office firmly on the Wirral, we have a long-standing relationship with many Liverpool businesses, but there are few as iconic as the Royal Liver Building. We praise them for their efforts in all areas of environmental impact, and thank them for their loyal custom, in using our Carbon Neutral waste service. We’re very proud to win this award, and congratulate the Royal Liver Building on achieving this for the 5th year running, an immense achievement.”
The Green Apple Awards, run by the Green Organisation, are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
