B&M Waste Services have this month taken receipt of the latest Toyota Auris hybrid company vehicles, as part of their commitment to minimising carbon impact.
B&M have been Carbon Neutral (PAS 2060) since 2011, and continuously utilise the latest that technology has to offer to improve efficiencies and minimise environmental impact.
The recycling and waste management company provide customers with cost-effective total waste management solutions which are recycling-led on a national scale.
Neil Curtis, Managing Director at B&M Waste Services said “Being Carbon Neutral, and as part of our ISO 14001 accreditation, we aim to keep vehicle pollution impact to a minimum. We operate a fleet of over 140 vehicles and are now purchasing the latest technology across our operational fleet of waste vehicles, which have Eminox exhaust management systems to minimise emissions.”
“We also utilise the latest in Refuse Derived Fuel technology to achieve our zero to landfill target, which is represented to our customers in terms of trees and car miles saved by recycling. The car fleet change was the obvious next step to ensure we are reducing our environmental impact by utilising the most fuel efficient cars on the market”
Mike Pendergast, Manager at Johnsons Toyota in Bootle said “B&M Waste Services came to us as they wanted to operate a greener fleet. We have worked with them to select the latest Toyota Auris Hybrid engine cars, which we delivered this week. These vehicles offer an exceptional 76.3 miles per gallon with CO2 emissions of 85g/km and Nitrogen Oxides NOX of just 5.7g/km, which is far lower than diesel and improves air quality”
“It’s great when companies are as forward thinking as B&M Waste in using a green fleet, as we all have our role to play in protecting the environment”
