HUSCO International successful divert over 98% of waste from Landfill with B&M Waste Services

HUSCO International are a global leader in the development and manufacturing of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls for off-highway applications. B&M Waste Services began providing a total waste management solution to HUSCO International’s European headquarters in Runcorn in 2016.

B&M Waste conducted a free site waste audit which gave them a thorough understanding of HUSCO Internationals’ requirements. A proposal was then compiled, detailing a bespoke innovative total waste management solution which would significantly improve HUSCO’s environmental impact.

Before B&M arrived on-site HUSCO recycled a very small percentage of their waste and possessed limited knowledge of the ultimate disposal point of their waste. All UK businesses have a duty of care to ensure any waste is disposed of using a licenced professional waste carrier such as B&M.

HUSCO previously utilised 11 different contractors for each individual waste stream, and the move to B&M Waste provided a one-stop-shop solution. Adam Baines EHS Manager for HUSCO International said “I used to spend lots of time contacting each waste provider individually to arrange collections and I had little knowledge of where the waste was disposed of. B&M have enabled me to save time and money as I can now use B&M to provide all my waste and recycling needs and they provide me with in depth duty of care and environmental reports”.

B&M provided a general waste compactor and the waste is processed through our refuse derived fuel facility which is used to create energy and ensures 100% of this waste is diverted from landfill.  The wood and swarf is collected and 100% recycled at a local reprocessing facility. B&M are a total waste management company and we are able to treat and process unusual and unique waste streams including hazardous, clinical and confidential waste.

Through B&M’s partnership with HUSCO International, they now divert over 98% of their waste from landfill, and also provide monthly itemised environmental reports.
